Reconciliation Week in Kindy

For Reconciliation Week this year, the 4 Kindy classes at Telopea Park School have worked together to learn about reconciliation and discover the richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

They learnt about native Australian animals and experienced bush medicine and bush tucker in the school's Reconciliation Garden.

From this knowledge, the students worked to create artworks that reflected the colours and textures of the Australian bush and the techniques used by Aboriginal peoples, like dot painting, bark and sand painting, weaving and sculpture with natural fibers. Their works have been exhibited in the school's Primary Library from the end of Term 2 until the beginning of Term 3.
